For quick text labels — part names, callouts, notes — the recommended approach is now the Text Label components (2D billboard / 3D plane). See Create text labels in the 3D scene. Use the geometry-based method on this page when the text must be real geometry: aligned dimension lines, text that exports or downloads with the model, or rendering guaranteed identical to the viewer.

How it works

The example above was created using the following approach:

• The aligned dimension lines are generated as line segments with back texture applied.
• The text is created using a single-line font called SLF-RHN Architect. The text is converted into polylines and then included as part of the 3D model displayed in the scene

Notes
